West Carroll Middle Defeats Gleason 24-14

ATWOOD (August 22) West Carroll Junior High War Eagles completed the homecoming festivities with a 24-14 victory over the visiting Gleason Junior Bulldogs.
Titus Taylor, Jr. struck early with a War Eagles’ touchdown just 1.5 minutes into the contest. The two-point conversion failed.
Gleason took the kickoff and struggled for a bit with early-game mistakes. They soon found their footing and on the first possession, they evened the score at 6. Kursin Gustafson took the ball to paydirt with just 38 seconds remaining.
West Carroll fielded the short kick, earned one first down, and then turned the ball over on downs.

West Carroll found paydirt after production by Hudson Bolton, Titus Taylor, Jon Coleman, and finally Taylor, who made an eight-yard run into the end zone. The two-point conversion failed and the score was 12-6 with 1:12 remaining in the first half.
On the first possession of the second half, Gleason drove the field through production of Drake Lovell, Kursin Gustafson, before a fumble near West Carroll’s 9 yard line ended the possession.
West Carroll made good on the turnover, starting at their own 10 yard and earning a TD on a 36-yard run by Hudson Bolton.
Gleason was soon to celebrate as the team Gustafson found the end zone and Lovell added the two-point conversion. The score stood at 18-14.
West Carroll scored one last time to make the final score 24-14.
