The first reading of two other planned trips was approved. A West Carroll FBLA field trip and a West Carroll Lady War Eagle trip to Florida next basketball season.

Director Caldwell opened and read bids for roofing the primary school cafeteria and the football field house were opened and discussed. Caldwell noted that the roofing work would be paid with ESSER money. The bids came from Industry Roofing from Oakland, Tenn., Elite Contractors from Jackson, and Strickland Roofing from Jackson. After discussion centering on warranties on the labor and the roofing, the board selected Industry Roofing with a total bid of $71,545 which was the lowest bid and they offered a 2-year warranty on labor and a 20-year warranty on the roofs.

The board heard a report from Caldwell regarding a water heater that quit at the primary school and needed to be replaced immediately. It was described as a 200,000 BTU 100-gallon water heater that was a 2000-2001 model. The board approved the low bid of $12,280 from Kathys to replace it.

Caldwell updated the board on the light project which involves replacing lights on the football field and at all three schools. He noted he had gotten estimates from Musco and Perkins Everett but not officially requested bids yet. Board member Patrick Lindsey inquired about an estimate from Jones Electric who has done work for the school system before. Caldwell replied that he had contacted them about an estimate and never heard from them. After further discussion, Lindsey made a motion to do bids which failed for lack of a second.

During Caldwell’s updates to the board prior to adjourning, he informed the board that the SSO vehicles are in production and will have 3-year bumper to bumper warranties on them.
