PARIS (August 16) — West Carroll War Eagles earned a hard-fought, one-point victory over the Stewart County Rebels in jamboree action in Paris.

Two teams, equal in talent, met for the first of four contests at the annual jamboree in Paris. Stewart County scored first at the 3:51 mark on a touchdown by Dalton Stamper with a PAT added to make the score 7-0.

West Carroll was unfazed as they soon marched to paydirt. Starting at their own 30 yard line, West Carroll earned two first-downs and a TD on the next drive. Devin Rader advanced for nine yards, followed by runs by Jeremiah Bryant, Jarrius Weatherford, Rader, before Bryant punched it in on a six-yard scamper. Bryant added the go-ahead two-point conversion at the 8 second mark of the first half.

The second half was scoreless as both teams traded possessions. Stewart County threatened late in the second half. A SC pass was intercepted by West Carroll to end the threat. West Carroll managed to exhaust the clock and take a knee on the final snap to earn the one-point victory.
