MCKENZIE (September 14) — The Bethel Wildcats won their third straight game with a 52-7 victory over the Keiser University Seahawks Saturday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium. Bethel (3-0) handed Keiser (2-1) their first loss of the year.
The No. 19 ranked Wildcats wasted no time in taking control of the game against the visiting Seahawks. A 31-yard touchdown pass from Sam Castronova to Dominic Moore at the 9:58 mark of the first quarter gave the Cats a 6-0 lead. Dalton’s McCann’s point after made it 7-0.
The Cats would take a 14-0 lead when Castronova struck again finding Devante Jimenez on a one –yard pass with 3:51 left in the period.
A dazzling punt return by J’Kobe Reddick from 68 yards out gave Bethel a 21-0 margin at the 13:50 mark of the second quarter.
On the ensuing kick-off Keiser failed to field the kick and Bethel’s Senturian Dureaux recovered the ball at the Seahawk 24 yard line.
Bethel took advantage of the Keiser mistake and scored a few plays later on a Taye Davis three-yard run making it 28-0 with 12 minutes left in the first half.
The Wildcats were not through as they scored with 3:52 left in the half when Castronova found Davius Prather in the corner of the end zone for another score. Prather made a leaping catch to haul in the 19-yard pass.
The Hawks finally moved the ball down the field picking up their initial first down of the game with 3:05 left in the half. Tyrese Lyons scored on a five-yard run in the last minute of the half to make it 35-7 at the break.
