COTTAGE GROVE -Mr. William Earl Davis, 91, of Cottage Grove, Tenn. died Friday, October 25, 2024 at his residence. His funeral serviceis 11 a.m.. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Mike Wimberley, Debra McGuire and Randy Crossett officiating. Named as pallbearers are Roger Nance, Charlie Correll, Jr., Craig Akers, Rusty Nance, James Bates and Bobby Rogers; honorary pallbearers are Jerry Wagner, John Salmon, Bubba Page and all of his Masonic brothers at Lodge #109. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery with a Masonic service before burial.

Visitation was Sunday and again on Monday after 10 a.m. until time of service.

William Earl Davis was born in November 6, 1932 in Como, TN to the late Charles T. Davis, Sr. and the late Lydie Akers Davis. He married Bonnie R. Lampkins Davis on June 12, 1952 and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2005. William Earl is survived by long-time companion, Ann Buie of Puryear; daughters, Kathy Davis of Paris and Debra (Charlie) Correll of Cottage Grove; son, Don Davis of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Keith Ainley, Kimberley (Jason) Snider, and Charlie (Ashley) Correll, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kyler Ainley, Lydia Snider, Madison Snider, Joshua Snider, Wyatt Correll, and Chevy Correll; also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles T. Davis, Jr., John Franklin Davis, and James Akers Davis.

William Earl was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church and the sexton of the Olive Branch Cemetery. He was a Masonic Lodge #109 member in Cottage Grove 32nd Degree. He retired from Du Pont of New Johnsonville with 30 years of service and farmed most of his life.
