CARROLL COUNTY FAIREST OF FAIR 2022 — Brooklyn Polinski, 18, a graduate of West Carroll High School and a student at Jackson State Community College is the 2022 Fairest of the Fair. She is the daughter of Jessica Estes and Tommy Polinski of Atwood. She has blond hair and green eyes. Her career choice is to become a registered nurse. more

McKENZIE — Children in Honduras and other countries will soon be blessed from other donations of toys, items for personal hygiene, clothing, school supplies, and candy - all packed in individual shoebox-size cardboard boxes. McKenzie — There are exciting things happening at the Farmers Market this Saturday. We start celebrating the Sweet Tea and Southern Pickin’s Festival with free sweet tea for all our customers. Children are encouraged to build their own race cars this week out of vegetables and fruit and  enter the 4-H Veggie Derby Race. We will also have Susie’s Petting Zoo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. After the market, stroll down to the Red Caboose to cool on a variety of water slides. more

HUNTINGDON — A volunteer support group wants to make the Carroll County Library even better. While the taxpayers of Carroll County and other governmental entities, along with other private donors, financially support the library. But more volunteers and money are needed, according to the new Friends of the Carroll County Library. more

HUNTINGDON — Saturday, August 20, saw Huntingdon host its first championship bicycle race. They have hosted bicycle road races and triathlons in the past but this year they were host to the 2022 Tennessee State Individual and Team Time Trial Championship. more

The first black student to enroll at Bethel College/University died in Texas on Thursday, August 11. The Reverend Joel P. Rice enrolled at Bethel in 1961 and graduated in 1965. more
