McKENZIE (April 26) — On Friday, Ashley Howell, executive director of the Tennessee State Museum along with former State Representative Steve McDaniel, presented a $14,700 check to the Gordon Browning Museum in McKenzie. The grants comes as part of a larger $5 million appropriation approved by members of the General Assembly for the Tennessee State Museum in the 2023-24 state budget. more

BOSTON (April 15) — McKenzie’s Mark Smith participated in the 128th Boston Marathon and completed the 26.2-mile race in less than three hours with an average pace of 6:49 per mile. This is an incredible feat considering that the average marathon time for men is approximately 4 hours and 21 minutes, and for women is around 4 hours and 48 minutes. more
