McKENZIE (September 12) — The McKenzie City Council approved a bid of $77,140 to resurface Eastwood Drive in McKenzie. Eastwood Dr., which runs adjacent to Tennessee College of Applied Technology in McKenzie and connects to Hwy 79 and Hwy 423, will be resurfaced by Martin Paving Company of Medina. The only other bid submitted was by Arrow Paving in Lexington of Lexington at $80,000. more

McKENZIE (September 11) — Construction has begun at the Carroll County Airport for the air medical base service known as Hospital Wing. During the August 2024 meeting of the Carroll County Commission, a lease between Carroll County and Med-Trans Corporation was ratified with Med-Trans stating construction would begin immediately. more
NASHVILLE — In a special celebration at their annual event, the Tennessee Chiropractic Association (TCA) honored Rep. Brock Martin, D.C. and Dr. Krista Martin of Huntingdon with their highest recognition, 2024 Conference Honorees. more

ATWOOD (September 5) — Long-time school secretary Lissie Robinson retired from the West Carroll Special School district and was honored during Thursday night’s September board meeting. more

McKENZIE (August 30-September 2) — The Webb Alumni Association celebrated its 55th Homecoming over Labor Day weekend with a full slate of events at the historic school. more

Come and go as you please. Refreshments are available. The company is the oldest business in McKenzie and started in 1870, one year following the incorporation of the City of McKenzie. In its 154-year history, it has undergone many changes and a few owners. It is the only home-owned media company serving Carroll County. more

GLEASON — Gleason celebrated its 51st Tater Town Special during the final week of August, always culminating the weekend of Labor Day. The Gleason Gazelles started the event in the 1970s as a way to showcase the city and its pride for all things Gleason. The lone year without the event was 2020, the pandemic year. more
