TREZEVANT - Mr. Elvis Ray “String” Forrest, 79 of Trezevant, Tennessee died Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon.

Funeral services are Monday, December 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Blake Singleton officiating.  Interment will follow in McLemoresville Cemetery.

Mr. Forrest was born March 28, 1943 in Trezevant, Tennessee, to the late Lee Roy and Myrtle Vera (Patterson) Forrest.  He was a retired plumber and a member of Union Academy Missionary Baptist Church.  Before his health failed he loved to go to different dance halls every weekend.  Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Forrest, a granddaughter, Destiny Pritchett, a grandson, Marty Nunley, a sister, Lucille White, two brothers, Homer Forrest, and Hulon Forrest. 

He is survived by the love of his life, Frances Hampton, two daughters, Rhonda McAlexander of Lavinia, Wanda Akins of McKenzie, and one adopted daughter, Janie Wallace (Keith) of Lexington.  He also leaves one grandson, Jason DePriest (Missie), one great-granddaughter, Clowie Nursery (James), and one great great-grandson, James Destin.
