Evelyn June Groom Turner

HUNTINGDON - Mrs. Evelyn June Groom Turner, 88, of Jackson, Tennessee died Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services are Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Bass officiating. Interment followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Mrs. Turner was born January 5, 1935 in Huntingdon, Tennessee to the late Leonard Groom, Sr. and Mae McAdoo Groom. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Leonard Groom, Jr. and Jimmy Groom.

Mrs. Turner graduated from Huntingdon High School and attended Bethel College (University).

She was a bookkeeper for Carroll County Hospital and Associated Publishers and the owner of

Evelyn’s Sew ‘n Sew. Mrs. Turner was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntingdon and

attended Meridian Baptist Church in Jackson with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gene Turner and three daughters, Vicki Worsham

(Jimmy) of Jackson, Belinda Burnett (Stephen) of Christiana, and Dr. Regena Parrish (Allen) of

Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She also leaves six grandchildren, Abby Worsham, Laura Mirabella

(Nick), Grant Cooper (Jessica), Lindsey Key (Martin), Aubrey Parrish, and Andrew Parrish

(Alana) and three great-grandsons, Hudson John Mirabella, Hank Turner Mirabella, and Cooper
