Mr. Hammett was born August 1, 1952 to the late Judge William Edward Hammett and Juanita Frances Webb.
He is survived by one son, Tyler (Denise) Hammett of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Jennifer (Danny) Gurley of Westport, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Lindey (Cody) Scott and John Tyler (Jennifer) Hammett; five great-grandchildren, Lydia Scott, Natalie Scott, Knoxley Scott, William Hammett and Justin Hammett.
