Mrs. Baker was born January 28, 1944, in Washington D.C. to the late W. Eros and Minnie Ruth (Dycus) McKenzie. Judy was known by many as the Carroll County Register of Deeds, where she gave her time and energy to public service for many years. She was always willing to meet the needs of the citizens of Carroll County. Judy served as state president of the Republican Tenn. Register of Deeds Association for one year. She was elected by her peers to serve as president. She was an absolute jewel. If you were ever blessed to meet her, you would never forget her. Judy had a love for all people and never met a stranger. If you ever met her, you would remember her. She had a lively personality and a sense of humor that would brighten a cloudy day.

While attending Huntingdon High School, Judy was an outstanding basketball player and avid Tennessee Vols fan. Judy was a faithful member of Huntingdon First Baptist Church and very active in her beloved Friendship Sunday School Class. Most of all, Judy loved her children, but her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny King, and a grandson, Nick Melton.

She was survived by her daughter, Debbie King, of Humboldt, and her son, Jeff King (Cynthia), of Huntingdon. She also leaves three grandchildren, Julia Foster, Destinee Melton, and Grace Taylor, and five great-grandchildren, Ayden Melton, Clay Melton, Chance Redmon, Caylee Melton, and Cailyn Melton.
