    McKENZIE (November 27) — For the third consecutive year, the McKenzie High School Rebels football team is headed back to Chattanooga to the Division I Class 1A State Championship. This year, the team is defending their title against the South Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday, December 1, at 3 p.m. EST (2 p.m. CST) at Finley Stadium.

    McKENZIE — A steel walking bridge is now suspended over a small creek adjacent to Power Supply/McKenzie Feed and Grain and is expected to open by Christmas. Martin Paving Company and Crane Services Inc. installed the structure last week.

    HERMITAGE (November 24) — With Friday night’s 25-14 win over the Dresden Lions, the McKenzie Rebels advanced to the TSSAA State Football Championship in Division 1, Class 1A. For the third consecutive year, the Rebels have earned a spot in the BlueCross Bowl and for the third time in four appearances, they will battle it out with the South Pittsburg Pirates.

    McKENZIE (November 25) — The No. 7 Bethel University Wildcats pulled away midway of the third quarter to beat No. 9 Evangel 40-13 and in doing so advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA Championship Series. The game was the 500th in program history.
