Robert Cursey

Mr. Robert Cursey, 80, of Jackson, Tennessee, died Friday April 7, 2023, at Volunteer Community Hospital.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday April 11, 2023, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Liberty All Cemetery. Brother Kenneth Massey and Brother Steve Wilkinson officiating.

Mr. Cursey was born June 27, 1942, in Milan, Tennessee to the late John Bennett Cursey and Sara Maunette Presson Cursey. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeff Cursey and a brother, Mike Cursey.

He was a member of Skyline Church of Christ; He received his B.S. from Bethel College and masters from the University of Tennessee at Martin; lifelong Educator for over 50 years and former principal at Huntingdon High School in the early 70s to mid 80s.

Mr. Cursey is survived by his wife, Linda Cursey; one daughter, Sherri Greene of Jackson, Tennessee; one son, Keith (Angie) Cursey of Martin, Tennessee; two step-daughters Wendy (David) Cook of Robertsdale, Alabama and Holly Lewis of Jackson, Tennessee; one sister, Lisa (Dave) Wynn of Oakland, Tennessee;  one brother Tommy Cursey of Sardis, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Chase Cursey, Hayden Lewis, Logan Sorrels, Kyle Greene, Noah Greene, Katy Cursey, Anna Cursey and Hayes Lewis; one great-granddaughter, Sawyer Cate Cursey.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to  8 p.m. and on Tuesday,  9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m.
