Three Killed in Henry County Crash

BUCHANAN (September 13) — Three people, including an 11-year-old child, were killed Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 79 North at Bull Durham Road in Henry County.

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:35 p.m. Sunday, September 13.

Killed in the crash were Stephen R. Parker, 69, the driver of a 2019 Ram 1500; Susan J. Parker, 64, a passenger in the vehicle; and an 11-year-old passenger.

A second passenger in the Parker vehicle, a 10-year-old, was injured.

The other vehicle involved was a 2015 Ram 1500 driven by Terry M. Roberts, 26. According to the preliminary report, Roberts was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday that Highway 79 North at Bull Durham Road was closed for an extended period following the crash and advised motorists to avoid the area.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. THP has indicated that information is limited while the investigation remains ongoing.
