Accident During Winter Storm Leads to Fatality

McKENZIE (February 19) — One person was killed in a two-car accident on Wednesday, February 19 on State Route 22 just north of McKenzie near the intersection of Tumbling Creek Road on a snowy morning.
According to a report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, killed was Megan Mancell, 33, a passenger in a Dodge Durango, driven by Crystal Ogle, 35, who was also injured. A juvenile passenger was uninjured.
The driver of the other vehicle was Kelly Stafford, 55, who was also injured. She had no passengers in her Hyundai. Both vehicles came to rest in the right lane and shoulder of the southbound lanes.
First responders from McKenzie, Gleason, Weakley County, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol were on the scene.
Some of the passengers were extricated by McKenzie Fire/Rescue and other first responders.
The THP does not release the drivers’ or passengers’ addresses and only provides limited information of wrecks.
