HUNTINGDON — AJ’s All Star Cafe is on the mend. Less than two months after the beloved Huntingdon establishment was heavily damaged in a grease fire, owner Jason Postlethwait anticipates opening the cafe’s doors to the public once again in early January 2026.

The November 12 fire, which Huntingdon Fire Chief John Fordon said originated in the cafe’s kitchen when grease ignited, severely damaged the kitchen and nearest dining room. The entire building was heavily impacted by smoke.

Postlethwait hit the ground running in November, tearing out all of the debris left over from the fire and rebuilding the Lexington Street cafe. The building’s plumbing and electrical systems are running. Postlethwait and others sprayfoamed the entire building and began painting over Christmas weekend.

AJ’s All Star Cafe, located at 12660 Lexington Street in downtown Huntingdon, is a popular breakfast and lunch destination for Huntingdon diners. It has been closed since the November 12 fire as Postlethwait and others worked tirelessly to bring the building back to its prime.
