Area Bands Excel at Championship Competitions

The four Carroll County high school marching bands concluded their competitive seasons Saturday at two championship competitions.
McKenzie, Huntingdon and West Carroll traveled to Independence High School in Thompson’s Station for the Division I State Marching Band Championship.
All three bands advanced to finals competition.
McKenzie placed fourth, and baritone player Dylan Bomar was awarded best soloist in both preliminary and finals competition.
Huntingdon was seventh place in finals, and the color guard placed third in preliminary competition.
West Carroll placed tenth.
The Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Marching Tigers traveled to Watertown for the Tennessee Small Band Championship, where they were champions, earning awards for top color guard, percussion, music and visual and first place band. The traveling “Senate Cup” will reside at Central High School for the year.
