Ashley Horn Joins UT Martin MMSC Faculty

MARTIN — Ashley Horn has joined the University of Tennessee at Martin’s Mass Media and Strategic Communication Department and will teach courses at both the Martin campus and the UT Martin Parsons Center.
Horn will teach Public Speaking, Introduction to Strategic and Visual Communication and Introduction to Strategic Campaigns.
Horn is a graduate of the department, earning her bachelor’s degree in public relations in 2016 and a Master of Arts in strategic communication in 2018. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Strategic Communication degree at Regent University.
Horn said she is most excited about interacting with students as they learn new concepts and apply them throughout the semester.

Lynn Compton Provides a Glimpse at Carroll County’s Century-Long History of Electricity
HUNTINGDON (August 19) — Lynn Compton spoke to the Huntingdon Historical Society Wednesday about the history of electricity in Carroll County. Compton served as the second general manager of the Carroll County Electric Department, following in the footsteps of mentor Charlie Francisco. He joined the electric department at 19 and “climbed poles” for 13 years before moving up in rank. He served as the general manager for 26 years before retiring.
