Cancer Bake Auction Has Good Year
From the Apr 9, 2024 e-EditionMcKENZIE — The Carroll County American Cancer Society netted $12,689 in its five days during the annual Cancer Bake Auction.
The event was held each afternoon, Monday through Friday, March 25-29 with baked items and other items sold during a live radio auction on WHDM radio. The proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
The event was started as early as in the 1980s and held in the small WHDM studio at the corner of Lee and Main streets. Now it is held Easter week and in the McKenzie Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.
