From the May 20, 2025 e-EditionMrs. Barbara Ann Holt, 77, died Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025 with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Palmer Shelter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Holt was born January 20, 1948 in Lexington, Tennessee to the late James Edward and Hazel Estelle Fesmire. They moved to Jackson when she was six. She graduated from Northside High School in 1967 and met her future husband Jim and were married March 16, 1968. They were blessed to have a daughter, Paula Anderson (Kenneth), and a son, Eric Holt (Nikki), grandchildren Madison Sipes (Thomas), Mila, Jagger, Silas, Freya, and a great-granddaughter, Letti Pearl.
Barbara worked as a seamstress at Publix Shirt, H.I.S. and Bill Sills. Her most important role in life as a wife, mother and grandmother was being a kind, compassionate Christian to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters J.L. Fesmire, Eulene Renfroe, Shirley Gutievez, Linda Boucher, Collins and Walter Fesmire.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Anita Fesmire, and many nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their guidance and care.
