EVA — The Bethel University Bass Team won the Tennessee State Governors Cup Saturday.

This is the second win for the Bethel squad in the Tennessee State Governors Cup as Bethel took the Cup back in 2023 as well.

The tournament was held at Eva, Tennessee in Benton County on Kentucky Lake.

The TN BASS Nation hosted this championship event and the school with the most weight of five bass for their top three teams for each school is tabulated for the tournament.

The top three boats for Bethel were Jeff Jones and partner Coleman Bingham who came in second place in the tournament with a total weight of five fish weighing in at 19.2 pounds. Bethel’s Hunter Fillmore’s and Dylan Fogarty finished in third place with a weight of 18.33 pounds and Bethel teammates Tucker Dottley and Jordan Hampton finished sixth with a weight of 17.78 pounds. These efforts helped push the Cats into first place for the win. The total weight of the three Bethel boats was 55.21 pounds and fifteen fish weighed in by the top three Bethel teams.

Hats off to Carson Newman for their first-place finish in the overall tournament.

The Bethel Bass Team heads to Table Rock Lake this week to fish in the Major League Fishing Regional held in Branson, Missouri.
