Bethel Athletic Hall of Fame Set for Nominations
From the Jun 4, 2024 e-EditionThe Bethel Athletic Department and the University take great pride in the Athletic Hall of Fame. Each fall during Homecoming week, the University honors individuals who have excelled as athletes, team members, coaches and staff or contributors.
This year the Hall of Fame ceremony will be held November 1. It will mark the 35th class to be honored. Six teams and 112 individuals have been enshrined since 1980.
Bethel University’s Athletic Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for the 2024 class. In order to qualify for the Hall of Fame, the following guidelines have been set:
• Athletes, coaches and administrators at Bethel or alumni who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics.
• Outstanding performance at Bethel or later in high school, college or professional athletics.
• Minimum of 10 years since graduation or last year of athletic participation at Bethel.
• Distinguished service for individuals who have rendered special service to Bethel athletics.
Nominations will be accepted until October 1, 2024, with the enshrinement set for Bethel’s Homecoming weekend.
Bethel Director of Athletics Brad Chappell commented, “Bethel Athletics is very proud of our current Hall of Fame membership and we want to make all of our fans and alumni aware of the process of nomination. We have several deserving candidates that simply need to be nominated to be included and that is where we depend on our fans and alumni to make us aware of who still needs to be added. At this point we are looking at those that graduated in 2014 and prior are eligible for nomination.”
