Bethel University Commencement Had 255 Graduates

McKENZIE (December 7) — Bethel University conferred 255 degrees during its Fall Commencement on Saturday, December 7 in the Crisp Arena. Two faculty members were honored upon their retirement during the ceremony.

Retiring were Dr. Shannon Godwin, professor of education, with 17 years of service to the university. She was presented a framed resolution from the Board of Trustees for her service.

Sandra Loudon, Dean of Student Development, were also honored upon her retirement with 32 years at the university.

Nancy Bean, Chairman of the Bethel Board of Trustees, was the commencement speaker. Mrs. Bean graduated from Bethel in 1969 and returned to the university to serve as a vice president and dean prior to full retirement. She encouraged the graduates to have humility and gratitude in their life. She noted that graduates were able to achieve their goal of graduating with the help and support of others.

The university conferred degrees at the associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s levels.
