Bethel, Eastside FCE Met
From the Mar 25, 2025 e-EditionEight members met in the home of Mary and Pennye Mays for the March FCE meeting.
The president, Gail Eubanks, called the meeting to order with the reciting of the Club Pledge in unison. Roll call was answered with “How do you eat healthy, save money, and not be wasteful?”.
The minutes were read from the February meeting and were accepted as read. Treasury report was given by Mary Mays, also accepted as presented.
Old business: Cakes for the nursing home were re-opened for discussion. It was decided that Pennye Mays would take care of it for April and will call someone if assistance is needed.
Boo-Boo Babies workshop will be held at the Mays home on Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m. She will have all the materials, just bring your helping hands.
Reading for Dr. Seuss took place on Monday, March 3 at the primary school. The readers were Gail Eubanks, and myself, Danita Laman.
New business: Readers for Head Start in McKenzie will meet at the Mays home on Wednesday, March 19 at 9 a.m. to carpool. The trip to Cyprus Park was tabled for the next meeting.
Spring Rally will be on April 21, 2025 at the Carroll County Complex. Our club will host this year. We voted for the theme to be salads. The list was discussed of who is bringing what. Lacy, our agent, will line up a speaker for the event. Remember to bring your cultural art exhibits for judging.
A few dates to remember are: Spring Rally — April 21; Cluster meeting — April 24 at Montgomery County; Council Meeting — June 9.
The program was given by Pennye Mays, our hostess, on an Anti-Scam Guide. It can happen to you, so be on your guard and don’t give out private info on the phone. Your bank will not call you. Check your statements for suspicious activity.
Jean Wininger will be our April hostess.
