Bethel Freshmen Welcomed by Community and University at Annual Fair
From the Aug 18, 2026 e-Edition
McKENZIE (August 15) — The McKenzie community joined Bethel University faculty, student organizations, and local representatives on Saturday to provide a warm welcome to the incoming freshman class. The event brought together a diverse group of local food vendors, medical professionals, and faith-based organizations, all gathered to introduce the new students to their new home.
Despite the sweltering Saturday afternoon heat, spirits remained high as participants lined the roadways in front of Campbell Hall. This long-standing Bethel tradition, known as the Freshman Fair, serves as a cornerstone of the orientation process, occurring annually on the Saturday before the start of the fall semester.
The move-in process for freshmen and student-athletes began earlier this week, marking the official transition to campus life. While on-campus classes are scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 19, many students are already hard at work; both athletes and members of the Renaissance performing arts program have commenced immediate practices for their upcoming seasons.
