McKENZIE (August16) — Bethel University freshmen just completed a week of orientation at the McKenzie campus that culminated with the Freshman Fair on Saturday.

The front lawn of Campbell Hall was lined with tents and tables by representatives of local businesses, organizations, and churches, plus college clubs and Greek organizations to welcome the university students to McKenzie.

The event is designed to educate the freshmen about the McKenzie community and foster connections between the university and the area.

Orientation officially started on August 15 with registration at 9 a.m. at the Dickey Fine Arts Building. The orientation opening ceremony was at 9:30 a.m. with a campus tour at 11 a.m. At noon, the freshman students had a lunch break at the Cafe. More activities began at 2 p.m. with STAR Time. Dinner was at 5:30 at the Cafe.

Orientation festivities continued on August 16. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., students had a proper introduction to McKenzie. At 2 p.m., they participated in freshman skits. Orientation week concluded on August 17 with a worship service at 10 a.m. in Bouldin Auditorium, which was the final event for freshmen.

Members of Renaissance and athletes moved into the dorms during the previous week.

Classes for new and returning Bethel students begin on August 18.
