Bethel University Announces ‘Vision 2030’ Strategic Plan
From the Jun 9, 2026 e-EditionMcKENZIE (June 1) — Bethel University announced its new strategic plan, named “Vision 2030,” on Tuesday. The new plan maps out Bethel University’s mission statement, vision, key values and strategic priorities over the next four years.
According to the university, Vision 2030 is the product of a year-long, campus-wide effort that brought together faculty, staff, students and community members.
Bethel President Dr. Perry Moulds led a series of listening and planning sessions, facilitated by Dr. Bob Fisher, President Emeritus of Belmont University, to develop Bethel University’s new vision.
“Vision 2030 is more than a plan. It is a shared promise to our students and a reflection of Bethel at its best,” Moulds said. “Our community came together with energy and honesty, and what they created gives us a clear and exciting path toward real prosperity for the university. I could not be more proud of what we built together.”
Bethel University’s mission, as presented in Vision 2030, is to be “an inclusive Christian community dedicated to equipping individuals for a life of service through academic, spiritual, social and experiential learning to go forth and transform the world.”
The university’s new vision reads, “Bethel University will be a leader in student-centered education through innovative academics, character formation and life skills development.”
Vision 2030 is anchored by five values: Faith, Integrity, Inquiry, Compassion and Respect.
According to the university, each value was chosen to reflect what Bethel is and what it aspires to be.
Vision 2030 is also organized around five strategic priorities:
- Show Faithfulness to Our Christian Character and Commitment to Student Formation.
- Strive to Attract, Retain and Graduate Outstanding Students.
- Ensure Long-Term Sustainability by Growing Revenue and Stewarding Resources Responsibly.
- Invest in Grounds and Facilities to Create an Environment Where All Can Thrive.
- Embody a One Bethel Culture in All We Do.
The full Vision 2030 plan, including the complete set of goals under each priority, is available at bethelu.edu/vision2030.
The Bethel University Board of Trustees voiced its support for Vision 2030.
“This is a clear and unifying roadmap for our future, and it positions Bethel to grow and thrive for generations of students to come,” said Nancy Bean, Chair of the Bethel University Board of Trustees.
In the months ahead, Bethel will turn its five priorities into specific initiatives, projects and investments that will shape future students’ experiences.
