Bethel/Eastside FCE January Meeting
From the Jan 27, 2026 e-EditionThe January 8 meeting was called to order by our president, Gail Eubanks.
She began the meeting by reading the Club Pledge. The devotion was given by Lisa Williams, the hostess of the month, using Blessings based on Psm. 5:12. Roll call was answered with, “What is one kitchen tip you would give someone?”
The minutes were read from the November meeting, approved as written.
The treasury report was given. We are still in the black.
Old business: Cakes for the nursing home will be donated by Judy Roberts and Pennye Mays will do February.
New business: Reading lists, and CVUs are due in February. Our president downloaded several recipes for meals in a bag if we care to use one. We will get our new year books at our February meeting.
Dates to remember: Thursday, January 15 is Leadership in Action. The County Council meeting is January 12. January 30 is a cluster meeting in Henry County. February 12 is our FCE meeting. April 6 is the County Council. May 1 Carroll County FCE hosts the cluster meeting.
We reviewed the service projects we have done this year. Here is the list: Boo boo bunnies for the nursing home; cakes for the nursing home; extension food drive; Read Across America, donate for cancer through the Baptist hospital; collect tabs for Ronald McDonald house; medicine bottles for the vet clinic and we added a new one, teddy bears for the fire department.
There will be a workshop for Boo boo bunnies in March.
The educational program was given by Gail Eubanks. Since we are going to do the meal in a bag as a service project she researched the different stores in Huntingdon. Gail used the recipe for Shepherds Pie and gathered all the ingredients from Walmart. Price was $7.62, Dollar Tree $9.71, Cash Savers $8.19, Dollar General $10.03.
She included one instant potato, one pkg. brown gravy, can of peas, carrots and one can of roast beef with the recipe.
The next meeting hostess is Lisa Williams.
