From the Jun 10, 2025 e-EditionMcKENZIE, Tenn. - Betty Jean Simmons's funeral services will be Monday, June 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens, McKenzie.
Mrs. Simmons, 88 years old, died at Decatur County Healthcare on Thursday, June 5, 2025. She is a member of Bethel Baptist Church and retired from Nestaway. She was born in Arkansas on September 28, 1936, to James T. and Imogene Hines.
She is survived by her son Jimmy Damesworth of Scotts Hill, two grandchildren Jeremy (Denise) Damesworth and Amy Putman, five great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and a sister Rebecca Burcham of Lexington, TN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gayford Simmons and three brothers Jack Hines, Billy Hines and Aubrey Hines.
