From the Oct 28, 2025 e-EditionBUENA VISTA, Tenn. — Mr. Bill “Popeye” Joyner, 84, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
There is a Celebration of Life held Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. until 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Bruceton Funeral Home.
Mr. Joyner was born May 1, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Mr. Carl Lee Joyner and Mrs. Gladys (Mitchell) Joyner. He enjoyed gardening, sheet metal working, and anything he could find to do outdoors. He retired from Covia, where he worked in industrial maintenance.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Harwell) Joyner; a son, Travis Joyner; two daughters, Janet James (Tom) and Edith Joyner; and one brother, Michael Joyner (Pat). Also leaves nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
