1954 - 2026

McKENZIE, Tenn. — Mr. Billy Clayton Williams, 72, of McKenzie, died Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Cherrywood Post Acute in McKenzie.


 A private graveside service will be held at a later date.


Billy was born May 22, 1954, in Milan to the late Dallas and Alice “Tootsie” Williams. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Henry Newton, and a niece, Kate Stables.
Billy lived his life as a simple man. He liked to work on automobiles and landscaping, and enjoyed boating, hunting, and fishing with his friends. Billy worked with his lifelong friend, David Moody, in the hardwood flooring business and was always noted for his excellence in quality and workmanship. He was a member of Huntingdon First Baptist Church.


He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Gooch Newton of Memphis; his cousin Bob and Donna Williams of Huntingdon; and other family members, Amelia and Jemma Jordan, Caroline and William Alexander, John, Devon, Emory, and Everly Williams, Kathy Williams Burkett, Jack Newton, and Elliott and Frances Stables.
