Bulldogs, Lady Yellowjackets Split Wins

GLEASON (February 5) — Gleason High School hosted Greenfield Thursday for a pair of district basketball contests. The visiting Lady Yellowjackets pulled away early for a 72-21 win. The Bulldogs led early and pulled away in the third, then held off a late Greenfield rally to claim a 72-63 victory.
Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets 72, Gleason Lady Bulldogs 21
The Lady Yellowjackets stormed out to a 19-4 lead after the first frame, led by Rayanna Fisher with nine points, including a pair of three-pointers. Ella Porter scored six, and Skylar Arnold and Maddie Paschall each had a pair. Lady Bulldogs Ahmyre Allen and Madi Dean each had a pair.
Greenfield had a 19-12 advantage in the second quarter, led by Fisher with seven points, including a three. Porter scored four. Paschall hit a three, and Arnold also scored three points. Jolie Lunsford had a pair. Hylan Leach led Gleason with five points with a three. Dean also hit a three, and Allen and Karlie Wilson each had a pair. At the half, Greenfield led 38-16.
The Lady Yellowjackets enjoyed a 19-2 tilt in the third, led by Fisher with nine points, including a pair of threes. Paschall scored five with a three. Porter had four points, and Arnold hit a free throw. Leach added a pair for Gleason. Entering the final frame, the Lady Yellowjackets led 57-18.
Greenfield capped the win with a 15-3 fourth, led by Kylee McNeil with five points, including a three-pointer. Fisher scored four, and Arnold, Porter and Emma Capps each had a pair. Allen added a pair for the Lady Bulldogs, and Leach hit a freebie.
Lady Yellowjacket Rayanna Fisher led all scorers with 29 points, including five three-pointers. Ella Porter scored 16, and Maddie Paschall had ten points with a pair of threes.
Hylan Leach led Gleason with eight points, including a three-pointer.
Bulldogs 72, Yellowjackets 63
Gleason had a 19-18 edge after the first frame, led by Kade Sawyers with 12 points, including a pair of three-pointers. Miami Woolridge also hit a three, and Brock Dilday and Brody Sanders each had a pair. Cruze Porter led Greenfield with eight points, including a pair of threes. Easton Sullivan scored four points. Caden Sparkman, Anthony Green and Westin Porter each had a pair.
The Bulldogs had a 15-11 advantage in the second quarter, led by Parker Morgan with six points on a pair of threes. Drake Lehmkuhl scored four points. Sawyers and Sanders each added a pair, and Ashton Morgan hit a free throw. Green scored eight for the Yellowjackets, and C. Porter hit another three-pointer. At the half, the Bulldogs led 34-29.
Gleason pulled away with a 22-13 tilt in the third, led by Sawyers with eight points. Woolridge scored seven with a three. Lehmkuhl had five points, and Sanders added a pair. C. Porter and Baker Biggs each scored four for Greenfield. W. Porter hit a three, and Green added a pair. Heading into the final frame, Gleason led 56-42.
A Yellowjacket rally in the fourth came up short at 21-16, led by Sullivan with eight points, including a three-pointer. C. Porter scored five with a three. Nick Brown hit a three, and Biggs also scored three points. Sparkman added a pair. Lehmkuhl led Gleason with eight points. Sawyers scored five, Sanders added a pair, and Woolridge hit a freebie.
Bulldog Kade Sawyers led all scorers with 27 points, including a pair of threes. Drake Lehmkuhl scored 17 points, and Miami Woolridge had eleven points with a pair of threes.
Cruze Porter led Greenfield with 20 points, including four three-pointers. Easton Sullivan and Anthony Green each scored 12, Sullivan with a three.
