Inman Bulldogs Top Rebels, 7-4

McKENZIE (April 2) — McKenzie Middle School hosted Inman baseball Thursday afternoon. The visiting Bulldogs held off a late Rebel rally for a 7-4 win.
Inman struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the first. McKenzie answered with one in the home half. The Bulldogs added a run in the third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Rebels rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Rebel Leighem Broyles was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Jake Ghyers was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Dierks Ghyers was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Seth Stafford was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Reed Gaskins was 0-for-2 with an RBI. Rex Thompson was 0-for-2 with a run scored. Mason Davidson was 0-for-2 with a walk.
Bulldog Ezra H. was 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk and three runs scored. Paxton M. was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Cannon T. was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. Carter A. was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base. Brody D. was 0-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Ryker S. was 0-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a stolen base. Luke R. was 0-for-1 with a walk and an RBI. Braden F. was 0-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base.
Ezra H. earned the win for Inman, allowing one unearned run on three hits with no walks and eight strikeouts in three innings. Cannon T. threw an inning and two-thirds of relief, allowing three earned runs on one hit while walking one and striking out four. Finn W. pitched the final third of an inning, allowing no runs or hits with one walk.
Seth Stafford took the loss for McKenzie, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits while walking three and striking out six in three and a third innings. Lane Brown pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing three earned runs on one hit while walking four. Rex Thompson threw the final frame, allowing one earned run on one hit and one walk.
