On Wednesday, March 18 at 9 a.m. in the conference room of Huntingdon City Hall, Mr. Steve McDaniel will be the Huntingdon TN Historical Society guest speaker. His presentation will focus on General Nathan Bedford Forrest’s West Tennessee campaign to disrupt General U. S. Grant’s supply lines and communications during the United States Civil War. Steve McDaniel will also give an overview of the development of Parker’s Crossroads Battlefield Park. All are welcome.
Huntingdon Cross Country, Track St. Paddy’s 1K, 5K
The Huntingdon Cross Country and Track and Field programs host the St. Paddy’s 1K, 5K Run/Walk Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at Huntingdon Middle School. Entry is $25. Age group awards will be given at the completion of the race.
Spring Bazaar, Bake Sale
The Craft Ladies of McKenzie First Cumberland Presbyterian Church will have their Spring Bazaar/Bake Sale on Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church, 16835 Highland Drive, McKenzie. Everyone is invited to buy craft and bake sale items.
Miss UTM Rodeo Pageant
The University of Tennessee at Martin Rodeo Booster Club is sponsoring the Miss UTM Rodeo Pageant Saturday, March 28, at Watkins Auditorium, located inside the University of Tennessee at Martin Boling University Center at 11 Wayne Fisher Drive, Martin.
The pageant is open to all girls, ages 0-20. Contestants will be judged in formal/evening gown only.
Doors open at 10 a.m. with pageants as follows: 0-12 months at 11 a.m., 1-3 years at 11:30 a.m., 4-6 years at 12 p.m., 7-9 years at 12:30 p.m., 10-12 years at 1 p.m., 13-15 years at 1:30 p.m., and 16-20 years at 2 p.m. Registration is at the door only, $40 for beauty only with side categories available for additional cost. Winner of the 16-20 division required to participate in UTM Rodeo Week activities and is eligible to compete in Territorial Queens Review/Strawberry Festival. Junior, Teen and Miss Division Queens will be recognized at UTM Rodeo Performances April 9, 10, and 11. For more information, contact Beth Weldon at (731) 225-1227.
McKenzie’s Eggstravaganza
McKenzie’s Eggstravaganza is Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the McKenzie City Park, 570 Como Street, McKenzie.
Egg Hunt Schedule: 0–2 years: 9:30 a.m.; 3–4 years: 9:50 a.m.; 5–7 years: 10:10 a.m.; 8–10 years: 10:30 a.m.
Enjoy a fun-filled morning with the Easter Bunny, over 50,000 eggs and prizes, local vendors, food trucks, a petting zoo, balloon characters, and a bouncy house.
Admission is free (food vendor purchases optional).
Carl Perkins Center Pork Tenderloin Lunch

Cat Vouchers
Cat spay/neuter vouchers are always available for $60. To purchase by phone for use at Paris Vet Clinic, call 731-514-0878 and leave a message. These are available to anyone regardless of residency. We now offer cat vouchers to Carroll County residents for $60 at the Huntingdon Animal Clinic. These must be purchased in person at the shelter with cash or card, and proof of residency is required. However, Carroll Co. residents can still use Paris Vet Clinic if preferred.
Capitol Talk with Senator John Stevens

Carroll County Commission meets the second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., in the Conference Room of the Carroll County Office Complex, High Street, Huntingdon. No meetings in February and July.
