Carroll Arts Trivia Bowl A Success

McKENZIE (January 18) — Carroll Arts held its 14th annual Trivia Bowl on Saturday at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in McKenzie. Twelve teams competed for first, second and third place prizes. Emcee Brad Sam asked the competitors a series of 10 multiple-choice questions and 21 fill-in-the-blank questions. Judges Ricky Price and Jason R. Martin reviewed and tallied each team’s answer sheets. Each multiple-choice question was worth 4 points. Joel Washburn provided sound for the event. Music for the evening was themes from TV shows and movies with a mixture of oldies during the intermission. Carroll Arts members served snacks and delivered team answers to the judges’ table.
Teams competing represented the McKenzie Senior Center, Carroll County Democratic Women, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Inglenook Book Club,
Tennessee River Artist Blacksmith Association, Wingo Baptist Church, and others.
Inglenook Book Club won first place with 52 points, the Know Nothings of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church won second place with 48 points and the Oldies but Goodies of McKenzie Senior Center won third place with 45 points.
Guests enjoyed a variety of snacks and drinks during the event. Drinks were generously donated by Pepsi Mid-America.
Carroll Arts, Inc. extends a warm thank you to all who participated in this event and encourages you to return next year for a fresh set of questions and a chance to unseat the reigning champs.
Carroll Arts is grateful to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church for the use of its facility, Pepsi Mid-American for donating drinks, McKenzie Senior Center for the design of the handbill, Ricky Price, Jason R. Martin, Joel Washburn and The McKenzie Banner.
Proceeds from this event will go to fund Carroll Arts’ upcoming events of the Carroll County High School Celebration of the Arts Exhibit at The Dixie on April 12 and the Creativity Camp held in July for elementary and middle school children.
