Carroll Lake Golf Club Has New Owner

Carroll Lake Golf Club has a new owner, and he's ready to take a swing at improving the course.
Huntingdon entrepreneur Josh J. Hicks, owner of J. Hicks Appliances, officially took over the 18-hole public golf course on Saturday, August 1.
Hicks announced the purchase online on closing day, Friday, July 31, with help from YouTube creator Robby Berger, also known as Bobby Fairways, from Bob Does Sports.
Some local golfers had already begun noticing changes to the course earlier in the summer, when 10 shiny, light blue golf carts appeared on the greenway.
In a video, Berger teased that Hicks would get sand back in the course's bunkers and bring the golf brand "Breezy" to the pro shop.
"Carroll Lake Golf Club will never be the same," Berger said.
Hicks asked for the community's patience as he takes over the course.
"I hope to make everyone proud, and I’ll do my best to make everything the best I can," Hicks said. "Might look worse at first but better golf is coming."
