Carroll County Shines at Spring Fling
Special Edition Coming In Next Week’s Banner
From the May 27, 2025 e-EditionCarroll County high school athletes left their mark at the TSSAA Spring Fling held in and around Murfreesboro last week.
McKenzie High School baseball went 2-2 in their tournament, finishing in the semifinals of Class 1A.
Huntingdon High School baseball was 4-2 in Class 2A, finishing as the state runner-up.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central softball went 4-2 in Class 1A, also finishing as the state runner-up.
In track and field, McKenzie’s Abigail Wallace earned gold medals in the 800- and 1600-meter races and finished third in the 3200-meter.
Huntingdon’s Blaine Todd finished second in the 3200-meter, while teammate Shawn Simpson finished sixth.
The Mustangs’ 4x800-meter relay team of Simpson, Todd, Cole Chafin and Carson Watters finished third.
A special edition will be included in next week’s Banner, with in-depth coverage and photographs from all of Carroll County’s Spring Fling participants.
