Football Cats Forced to Forfeit at Keiser
From the Sep 16, 2025 e-EditionWEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Bethel University Wildcats and the No. 2-ranked Keiser Seahawks met Saturday afternoon in West Palm Beach, Florida, in a matchup that was halted prematurely.
With 2:27 remaining in the first quarter and Keiser holding a 7-0 advantage, a series of lightning delays forced Bethel to make the difficult decision to forfeit the contest.
Bethel Interim Director of Athletics, Dave McCulley, addressed the situation following the announcement:
“It is unfortunate we were forced to forfeit, but due to the delays and limitations with the flight home, we felt it was in the best interest of our players and staff. We certainly considered all the factors and variables, but the safety of our players was the deciding factor in our decision.”
The decision left the Wildcats at 0-2 on the season, while Keiser improved to 2-0.
