Third Annual Celebration of the Arts a Success
From the Apr 15, 2025 e-EditionHUNTINGDON (April 12) — Carroll Arts, Inc. held its third annual Celebration of the Arts at The Dixie Carter Performing Arts and Academic Enrichment Center on Saturday.
Approximately 73 students from Huntingdon, McKenzie, Hollow Rock-Bruceton and West Carroll schools participated by displaying their work in the art gallery and performing musical numbers on The Dixie stage.
During the performance portion of the evening, Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School band students performed two pieces, “Aggressivo” by Standridge and “Dixieland Struttin’” by Osterling under the direction of Keith Breeden.
Isaac Stephen Walker sang two songs, “Luck Be A Lady” by Frank Sinatra and “Stars” from Les Miserables. Jay Mills performed “I Don’t Care Much for Cabaret.”
McKenzie High School Freshman Sophie Cole sang, “The Commission” and “King of Kings.” McKenzie Senior Aydin Neely performed “More Than Anything.”
A Huntingdon High School band quintet then took to the stage to perform “A Taste of Honey,” followed by a larger ensemble that performed “Jupiter.”
The event was well attended with The Dixie reporting 207 attendees.
Carroll Arts, Inc. extends its heartfelt thanks to The Dixie Carter Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center for use of the beautiful venue, promoting the event, the refreshments provided, accommodating each artist’s needs, sound check, and the overall professionalism of the whole staff. The Dixie is a class act.
Thank you to each school that coordinated with Carroll Arts, Inc. to make this event possible. Thank you, teachers, who transported their students’ artwork to and from the event.
