Central Defeats Lady Rebels

McKENZIE (April 17) — McKenzie High School softball hosted Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Friday for a district contest. It was a tight contest until a huge fourth inning by the visiting Lady Tigers sealed a 16-3 win in five innings.
Central struck first with a run in the top of the first, but the Lady Rebels answered with two in the home half to take the lead. The Lady Tigers regained the advantage in the third with three runs. McKenzie plated one in the bottom half. Central pulled away with nine runs in the fourth and added three in the fifth.
Lady Tiger Addy Baker was 2-for-4 with a home run, six RBIs and two runs scored. Amelia Bennett was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Lilly McGee was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Madison Holder was 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs. McKenzye Castleman was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Kylie Craig was 2-for-4 with a stolen base. Cloe Morgan was 1-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Addison Tucker was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored. Kyleigh Baker was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Lady Rebel Aurora Johnson was 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Addyson Littleton was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Haylee Beard was 1-for-1 with a walk and an RBI. Maggie Hall was 0-for-2 with a walk.
Madison Holder earned the complete-game win for Central, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits while walking three and striking out five.
Aurora Johnson took the complete-game loss for McKenzie, allowing 16 runs (ten earned) on 17 hits while walking two and striking out one.

McKENZIE (July 31) — McKenzie High School hosted Obion County Central Friday evening for an all-Rebel scrimmage at the MHS practice field. The host Rebels looked strong on both sides of the ball, especially during the varsity portion of the contest.
