NASHVILLE — In a special celebration at their annual event, the Tennessee Chiropractic Association (TCA) honored Rep. Brock Martin, D.C. and Dr. Krista Martin of Huntingdon with their highest recognition, 2024 Conference Honorees.

“We are proud to recognize the Martins for their incredible work to cultivate relationships that are profoundly benefiting the profession and our great state,” said Tiffany Stevens, executive director of the TCA. “Together, whether district campaigning, serving on “the Hill,” parenting their young son, or fulfilling their daily commitment to patients, community, and constituents, they are truly a power couple who embody the highest standards of dedication and integrity.”

Meeting as friends at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO, they earned their Doctor of Chiropractic degrees in 2010 and returned to Dr. Brock’s West Tennessee roots to found Southern Chiropractic & Acupuncture in Huntingdon in 2012. Their emphasis on patient-centered care and exceptional hospitality led to growth and the addition of Dr. Shelley Simpson to their team in 2021. Again, in 2023, they furthered their ability to care for their community, merging with Drs. Allan and Amber Douglas of Camden, long-time friends and Dr. Brock’s high school mentors who inspired him to pursue chiropractic.

From their earliest days in practice, Dr. Brock sought to serve through leadership, participating in WestStar, the Delta Leadership Institute, on the Bethel University Board of Trustees, among others, all earning him recognition in the Jackson Sun’s 40 Under 40. In addition, the Martins’ steady Gold Membership in the TCA and contributions to the TCA PAC and Eagle Society have greatly supported their profession. Their combined gifts of volunteerism through professional board and committee roles, including Dr. Brock’s tenure as TCA President, have been invaluable to the profession and the patients served across Tennessee.

His many years of dedicated advocacy earned Dr. Brock the prestigious Statesman of the Year Award from U.S. Congressman David Kustoff in 2021. It also fostered strong relationships that ultimately led to the endorsement of former State Representative Curtis Halford and his successful campaign to be elected State Representative for District 79. This marked a historic win for his profession, as it had been nearly 40 years since a chiropractic physician last served in the TN General Assembly. His expertise earned him the rare honor of a vice-chair committee role and his leadership secured several legislative successes benefitting Tennesseans in his first term.

“I credit Dr. Krista for making each success possible,” said Dr. Brock during their acceptance of the honor, noting all she does to seamlessly balance her roles of First Lady of District 79, wife, mother and partner in their busy growing practice.

Dr. Krista added, “We have an amazing team who have continued to embrace our ideas and roll with the changes. Without them, it would have been impossible to move into the roles we have now. They work hard but have fun in and out of the office. They have been the true dream team!”

The Martins were honored by their peers at the Southern Chiropractic Conference® hosted by TCA held on August 24 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro, TN and a special video presentation is also featured on the TCA’s YouTube channel (@TNChiroAssoc).

The TCA, a professional organization composed of doctors of chiropractic since 1935, is a dynamic advocate for chiropractic physicians whose conservative care contributes to the health and well-being of Tennessee. For more information about the TCA, visit www.TNChiro.com.
