Clarksburg Defeats West Carroll
From the Mar 31, 2026 e-EditionATWOOD (March 24) — West Carroll High School hosted Clarksburg Tuesday for a baseball contest. The visiting Rockets had a big fourth inning to secure a 12-2 win in five innings.
Clarksburg struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the first, but the War Eagles tied it in the home half. The Rockets regained the lead with three in the second, then opened up a big advantage with seven runs in the fourth.
Rocket Garrett Bartholomew was 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Trae Cobb was 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases. Walker Aston was 1-for-3 with an RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Reagan Halter was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Samuel Wallace was 1-for-1 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. Maddox Robbins was 1-for-3. Levi Davis was 0-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Taylor Lawler was 0-for-4 with two RBIs. Greysen Jones was 0-for-2 with two walks and a run scored.
War Eagle J.W. Rushing was 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Harlan Hames was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a stolen base. Caleb Vermillion was 0-for-2 with a walk and two stolen bases. R.Q. Thompson was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Greysen Jones earned the complete-game win for Clarksburg, allowing two earned runs on two hits while walking three and striking out nine.
Sawyer Jackson got the start for West Carroll, allowing eight runs (five earned) on six hits while walking three and striking out one in three innings. R.Q. Thompson pitched the final two frames, allowing four unearned runs on two hits while walking two and striking out one.
