Clay Farm Road Closure Begins July 23
From the Jul 22, 2025 e-EditionCARROLL COUNTY (July 16) — A section of Clay Farm Road between Trezevant, McLemoresville and Atwood will close for an extended period of time beginning Wednesday, July 23 as construction continues on the new U.S. Highway 79 alignment.
Clay Farm Road will be closed between Newsome Road and Highway 70. The detour for the closed section will be Newsome Road, which also connects directly to State Route 70.
Larger vehicles are encouraged to utilize Highway 79 or State Route 105.
During the closure, Vaughn Contractors, Inc. will conduct grading, drainage and utility work in the area.
