Coach Jeff Britt’s Basketball Camps Develop Youth Talent
From the Jun 30, 2026 e-Edition
McKENZIE (June 22-24) — The Annual Wildcat Individual Basketball Camp, hosted by Bethel University Men’s Basketball Head Coach Jeff Britt, welcomed dozens of young hoops enthusiasts to campus last week.
The three-day camp began Monday. Campers enjoyed one-on-one instruction from camp staff, which included Coach Britt, assistant coaches Kyler Barnes and Christopher Beck, Student Coach Garrett Hicks, Wildcat players Ethan Turner, Taylor Stovall and DJ Starr, team manager Hayden Wingo and Bethel alum Ethan French, a teacher and multi-sport coach for Huntingdon schools.
Campers age 10 and under participated in the morning, and those 17 and under were in action in the afternoon. A total of 87 young men from around the region attended the camps.
The youth also competed in individual and team events, free throw shooting, hot shots, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5.
The camps concluded Wednesday with 5-on-5 tournaments and an awards ceremony. Each camper received a camp basketball, an instruction book, a certificate and a camp T-shirt.
Coach Britt said, “It is a pleasure to have these young men on our campus. It is a week to learn but also a week to have fun. The three days are as much fun for us instructors as they are for the campers. I think everyone had a great time. This was an active and fun group to have, and we feel they learned some things to help them enjoy the game even more. We enjoyed having each one of these players on our campus and look forward to seeing them at our games this next season.”
