County Commission Meets Monday
From the May 6, 2025 e-EditionThe Carroll County Commission meets Monday, May 12 at 7 p.m. On the agenda are three resolutions. Resolution 5-01-2025 – Amends the text of the Carroll County Lake Zoning Resolution to revise the definition of “Accessory Structure.” The revision will read, “A subordinate building, the use of which is incidental to that of a principal building on the same lot. Swimming pools, satellite antennas, subterranean storm shelters and portable prefabricated storage sheds shall be considered as accessory structures to residential uses. Structures originally designed as tractor trailer containers and buildings originally constructed for dwelling purposes, such as mobile homes, manufactured homes, modular homes, and travel trailers, would not be considered accessory structures to residential uses.”
Resolution 5-02-2025 – Authorizes the County Mayor to sign a project proposal with the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The Department of Transportation of the State of Tennessee has proposed to construct a project in the County of Carroll, with the project described as “from near Old Loop 22/Thorne Lane to South of SR-124 Old McKenzie Road Route: SR-22” for improvements to State Route 22, including miscellaneous safety improvements and j-turn intersection, with the project being federally funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program, and designated as State Project No. 09006-2219-94.
Resolution 5-03-2025 – Amends the General Fund Budget for the Airport $15,705 by through line item adjustments.
The Commission will hear an update from LEPC (Local Emergency Planning Committee) Chairman Dan Willman.
