Cottage Grove Hosts Annual July 4th Celebration

COTTAGE GROVE, Tenn. (July 4) — Tennessee’s smallest incorporated city always puts on a festival on July 4 in celebration of America’s independence from Great Britain.

As of 2022, Cottage Grove is the smallest incorporated city in Tennessee, with an estimated population of 66 people. It’s located in Henry County, about 20 minutes outside of Paris, and covers about 0.2 square miles. Cottage Grove has a historic school, cemetery, church, park, post office, volunteer fire department, and general store.

The July 4th event includes a parade, kids games and fireworks. It is a go-to event for politicians and citizens from surrounding cities.

It was a blistering hot day, but visitors enjoyed the festivities.
