City Council Meets August 14

The board convenes to discuss and potentially approve a proclamation for State Track Championship Winner Abigail Wallace, Ordinance 573 revised Zoning Ordinance and a sod/irrigation bid for McKenzie’s new soccer complex. Following the discussion of these new items of business, department heads will report news regarding their departments.

Dyer County Armed Career Criminal Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison for Illegal Possession, Discharge of a Firearm
JACKSON — A federal judge has sentenced Timothy Adams, 55, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, to 15 years in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. United States Attorney D. Michael Dunavant, of the Western District of Tennessee, announced the sentence today.
