County Meets With Light May Agenda

HUNTINGDON (May 11) — The Carroll County Commission met Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at the Carroll County Government Complex in Huntingdon. The board had a light agenda for the May session. Included on the county agenda were the following:

Resolution 5-01-2026 reappointed Brad Hurley and Rita Jones to the Carroll County Board of Zoning Appeals and Carroll County Regional Planning Commission. These terms end in May 2030.

Resolution 5-02-2026 reappointed Barry Mac Murphy, Dr. Jay Phipps, and Darrell Ridgely to the Carroll County Audit Committee. These terms end in May 2030.

Resolution 5-03-2026 authorized the Carroll County Clerk to enter into a lease agreement with Memphis Communications Corporation for a Quadient Mailing System. The proposal includes an IX-AF Digital Postage System, along with the associated features and services necessary for County operations. The proposed agreement provides for a lease term of 63 months. The vendor offered a rebate to assist with the termination of the County’s existing lease agreement.

Resolution 5-04-2026 would adjust the waste tire tipping fees. The following fee schedule was recommended by the Carroll County Solid Waste Committee based on tire rim size and tire mounted on rims, as indicated: Car Tires — $6 (tire off rim) / $10 (tire on rim). Light Truck — $6 (tire off rim) / $10 (tire on rim). Semi-Truck — $25 (tire off rim) / $50 (tire on rim). Implement/Agriculture — $1/inch rim size (tire off rim) / $2/inch rim size (tire on rim). Motorcycle — $6 (tire off rim) / $10 (tire on rim). Super Single Truck — $35 (tire off rim) / $70 (tire on rim). Loader — $30 (tire off rim) / $60 (tire on rim). Earthmover tires are $25 a ton.

The following were elected notaries: Jason Wyatt Arnold, Andrew Lee Buchanan, Cicla Panto Buchanan, Casey Drewry and Patrick Michael Schuler.

The next regular meeting of the Carroll County Commission is June 8 at 7 p.m. The June agenda should contain the discussion and approval of the 2026-27 Fiscal Year Budget.
