Mr. Melton, 73 years old, died Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Tri Star Skyline Medical Center, Nashville. The land that is now Gleason Raceway Park was once his and it was his vision and generosity that helped create a home for countless racers and fans. Beyond the track, his craftsmanship was second to none. As a builder of top-of-the-line drag cars and engines, his work was sought after by racers across the country. Danny was a member of the Gleason Raceway Park Hall of Fame, a Baptist in faith, and a member of Racers for Christ.
